1:28 pm - Legpain
Whew! The infected place on my leg has been excruciating! I hope Jack O. and BC/BS can get me fixed up pronto, lest the trip to Ireland be jeapardized.

Whatever happened to Tracey? Last thing we knew, she was in Biloxi, then - BLAMMO! She vanished.

11:32 am - Jr. Miss
Laura and I (and Sherilyn and Emily) went to see the North Carolina Junior Miss 2001 competition last night. What a world apart! The audience was essentially blocked off into cheering sections - some louder and more obnoxious than others. One group looked like politicos, replete with campaign buttons, signage, and pom poms. Stephanie, our cheer-ie, won a $500 scholarship in the scholastic achievement category. GO girl.

8:34 pm - Where's the justice?
Why is "Survivor: Season One--The Greatest and Most Outrageous Moments" available on DVD, when "Fawlty Towers" is not???????

From Wilkes county's own "Journal Patriot" newspaper, an article about a local couple's recent trip to NYC:

9:41 pm - It's MILLENNIUM DAMMIT
What's so hard about spelling "millennium"? If you owned a business and wanted to put a "hard" word up on a billboard, wouldn't you look it up first to make sure that it was spelled correctly?

10:31 pm - Holiday!
What a wonderful Christmas and New Year!! Laura and I really had a wonderful holiday. The tree was gorgeous, saw all the family and friends, and we had (mediocre) French champagne on new year's eve! Granted, it's not as neatl as last year when we were on Wrightsville Beach in short sleeves at 11:45pm on New Year's Eve, but we were home and together and happy nontheless.

Laura loves her jewelry box. It didn't arrive until Sat, the day before Christmas eve. Thanks for the wonderful service, Ross-Simons!! Now, I ordered on November 26th-and it was in stock according to their web site.

She also loves the Wendy Costa ceramic tiles that I got her. Hung them on the bedroom wall today-they look great!

I'm enjoying my G-Shock watch and the digital camera goodies!

Laura took me to see Tanglewood, a drive-thru light show near Winston-Salem. Pretty nifty. Well worth the $10 admission.

9:56 pm - Trimming the tree
Had the best time today, putting up the tree and decorating it! Already had a bunch of presents wrapped, so as soon as the tree was done, presents went underneath to complete the picture.

Weather forecast says there might be a "snow event" tonight and tomorrow, so, of course, the grocery stores and drug stores were packed today.

11:35 pm - Boone
Went Christmas shopping in Boone tonight, after picking up my car from the Mitsubishi place. A dusting of snow fell, and there were snow plows out roaming around. Christmas tree gets picked out tomorrow!!

7:04 pm - End of the Work Week
Boss is happy with my redesign of the website. My eyes get very tired after looking at the 15 inch Mac screen for eight hours every day, but maybe it's worth it.

They're predicting rain this weekend - it's sprinkling now. BUT, pizza is on the way!!!

I hate these "sucker" checks that your credit card company sends you. "So what would you do with more cash right now? Fulfill your travel dreams and book a vacation."

Uhhh, well, I guess some people's idea of a dream vacation costs less than $500, but mine certainly doesn't.
